Launching the Action

As COVID-19 surged around the Spring Festival, shortages of medical supplies became the key bottleneck. With deep industry data and full value-chain operations across multiple sectors, IBI’s Duoduo e-commerce platforms overlap by over 50% with raw materials urgently needed for epidemic prevention. After multiple board and executive meetings, IBI launched its Supply-Chain Anti-Epidemic Support Initiative on February 10.

Coordinated Production & Global Sourcing

IBI rapidly opened a dedicated “Fight the Epidemic” hub and added multilingual sourcing pages (EN/AR/HI/KO/JA) to mobilize global resources.

Leveraging vertical chain strengths in nonwovens & melt-blown fabrics; PP/PE/PVC; ethanol/sodium hypochlorite; float glass, the platforms helped mask, gown, glove, disinfectant, alcohol, and pharma-glass manufacturers resume or pivot production.

Aggregated orders through Mar 31:

  • ~41 million masks

  • ~7,000 tons ethanol (alcohol)

  • ~4.1 million m² disinfectant wipes

  • ~3,300 tons nonwovens, incl. ~570 tons melt-blown

  • ~4,000 tons sodium hypochlorite (84 disinfectant feedstock)

  • ~30,000 tons PVC/PP/PE

Holding Up the Logistics Backbone

With regional restrictions and quarantines disrupting transport, IBI activated its smart logistics stack—RDC/FDC networks, shared‐capacity and cloud-warehouse systems, BeiDou vehicle tracking, and analytics—to optimize routes and modes, unlocking road, sea, rail, and air capacity.

Through Mar 31:

  • 13 cross-border cargo flights

  • 310+ box-truck runs for inbound air cargo (masks, gowns, bottled disinfectant)

  • 720+ general freight trailer runs (nonwovens, melt-blown, PVC, etc.)

  • 1,700+ tanker/ship runs (ethanol, alcohol, sodium hypochlorite, etc.)

Partners:153 general freight carriers and 26 hazmat carriers joined the initiative. IBI also supplied PPE and sanitizers to drivers, crews, and dock staff to protect frontline logistics teams.

On-the-Job Safety Support & Global Solidarity

International partners responded warmly. Mr. Chandra Prakash, Chairman of India’s Plastics & Chemicals Association and Shyam Group, sent a handwritten note supporting IBI’s efforts. India’s MEDI Mitra medical charity promoted IBI’s program locally to encourage resource sharing.

IBI rolled out:

  • Daily giveaways of 10,000 masks

  • Group buys for 100,000 masks at fair prices

  • Free distribution of 100,000 bottles of alcohol

Donations of masks and disinfectants were also made to governments and public health agencies in Beijing, Sichuan, and beyond. In total, 27 companies from 10+ countries/regions joined the collaboration.

Platform Services to Boost “Immunity” for Enterprises

To help SMEs operate under lockdowns, IBI offered fee waivers for:

  • Online e-signature services

  • Payment withdrawal fees

  • Cloud ERP, cloud logistics, BeiDou tracking, and IBI Cloud industry livestreaming

IBI organized craftsman-style expert livestream classes via IBI Cloud:

  • 80+ free sessions by Mar 31

  • 75,586 participating companies; 121,183 professional attendees

IBI also opened its cloud video-conferencing service free to industry users, hosting 1,000+ meetings for 500+ companies.

“Hundred-Team” Group Buys & Livestream Selling for Recovery

To accelerate safe resumption of work, IBI launched the “Hundred-Team” Group Buy zone on March 8:

  • Epidemic-prevention items: PP, melt-blown, nonwovens, masks, IR thermometers, alcohol, disinfectants

  • Core raw materials by chain: titanium, alcohols, plastics, glass, base paper, fertilizers, etc.

Livestream Commerce (since Mar 11):

    • Mar 18 (LYDD): ¥38 million, 18,000 viewers

    • Mar 23 (Boododo & FDD): ¥71 million+, 34,000 viewers

By acting as a supply-chain hub, IBI’s Duoduo platforms coordinated upstream and downstream partners to fight the epidemic and support production restart. Phase I has delivered tangible results in sourcing, logistics, donations, fee relief, digital enablement, and demand aggregation. IBI will continue enhancing platform services and innovating industrial e-commerce practices to help the real economy recover and grow.
