On November 28, the 2020 Global Digital Trade Conference and China (Wuhan) Industrial Internet Summit officially opened in Wuhan. IBI Chairman Liu Quan, President Qian Xiaojun, and Senior Vice President & Toodudu CEO Liu Zhai attended the event and participated in several key activities throughout the conference.

The 9-day conference included multiple major programs such as the 11th China Wuhan (Hankou North) Commodity Fair (“HanTrade Fair”), the China (Wuhan) Industrial Internet Summit, the China Wholesale Market Annual Meeting, and the Hankou North Foreign Trade Forum.

On November 29, the HanTrade Fair Signing Ceremony took place at the Wuhan International Trade City. As a representative enterprise in B2B e-commerce and industrial internet, Chairman Liu Quan attended the ceremony alongside Wuhan Municipal Party Secretary Wang Zhonglin, Zall Holdings Chairman Yan Zhi, and other prominent leaders, including Wang Zhaomin (Vice Minister, United Front Work Department, Hubei Province), Yang Jie (Director of Wuhan Customs), and Zhang Xiaomei (President of CCPIT Hubei). During the event, Liu also met with Jianlong Group Chairman Zhang Weixiang and Delong Steel Group Chairman Ding Liguo to discuss collaboration opportunities.

In his remarks, Chairman Liu Quan emphasized:

“Digitalized transactions are a key driver of industrial upgrading. B2B e-commerce and industrial internet platforms are the engines of digital industrialization and are becoming the core forces behind industrial digitalization. IBI will continue to collaborate with core enterprises across industrial chains, strengthening our role as a platform enterprise within China’s ‘dual-circulation’ economic framework.”

That same day, the China (Wuhan) Industrial Internet Summit — a flagship component of the digital trade conference — was held at the Zall Marriott Hotel, Wuhan. During the session moderated by Ebrun Chairman Zheng Min, IBI President Qian Xiaojun joined Wei Zhe, former CEO of Alibaba and Founding Partner of Vision Knight Capital, in a high-level roundtable discussion on the topic “Why the Industrial Internet Is the Most Exciting Trend of the New Era.”

President Qian noted:

“Industrial internet is entering a strategic window of rapid development. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, our repurchase rate among existing clients reached 92%, reflecting the strong resilience of China’s manufacturing base. Much like how the 2003 SARS outbreak catalyzed the consumer internet, this year’s pandemic has accelerated the industrial internet. We’ve seen substantial growth in new registered and active trading users. The counter-cyclical resilience and supply-chain leadership of industrial internet platforms are becoming increasingly evident.”

He further explained the BOM-driven model, highlighting two critical success factors:

  1. Precise downstream traffic, and

  2. Strong upstream supply-chain control and influence.

Qian concluded that digital platforms with strong transaction stickiness or smart logistics capabilities are best positioned to achieve deep industrial digitalization. IBI, he added, will continue advancing its Platform–Technology–Data strategy, helping traditional industries reduce costs and improve efficiency while becoming a chain leader in industrial, supply, and value networks.

Later that evening, the “Qianfeng Night” Award Ceremony of the Industrial Internet Conference took place. Liu Zhai, IBI Senior Vice President and Toodudu CEO, represented the company in receiving multiple honors. Among them:

  • IBI won the “Double Trillion Award” (Trillion-Revenue + Trillion-Market-Cap Potential),

  • Toodudu received the “Trillion-Revenue Award,”

  • Wdoodoo and Boododo were recognized with “Potential Awards.”

These accolades — voted on by over 50 investment institutions — reflect the industry’s strong confidence in IBI’s long-term digital-industrial growth and its leadership in advancing China’s industrial internet transformation.
