Professor Guan Wei, Former Party Secretary of the School of Finance, Renmin University of China, Visits IBI
On March 24, Professor Guan Wei, former Party Secretary, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor of the School of Finance, Renmin University of China (RUC), led a delegation of 20 RUC undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students to visit IBI (Beijing United Information Technology Co., Ltd.). The delegation met with IBI Chairman Liu Quan, Senior Vice President Pan Yong, and HR Director Jiao Xiaoyuan, engaging in in-depth discussions across multiple topics. Also present were Xu Hai, RUC School of International Finance alumnus (Class of 1999) and former Goldman Sachs executive, and Niu Qi, RUC School of Statistics alumna (Class of 2005) and Director of Wdoodoo.
Renmin University of China is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education and listed among the first batch of “Double First-Class” (Category A) universities in China. It is a comprehensive research university with a strong focus on humanities and social sciences. Both IBI Founder and Chairman Liu Quan and President Qian Xiaojun are proud alumni of RUC — Liu from the School of Finance (Class of 1998) and Qian from the School of Business (Class of 1998).
During the meeting, Chairman Liu Quan extended a warm welcome, remarking:
“It is truly heartwarming to welcome visitors from my alma mater. As IBI continues to grow rapidly, continuous learning is essential. We must strengthen our team with advanced theoretical knowledge while also allowing our practical experience to serve as a valuable case study for academic research — contributing to broader discussions in both academia and industry.”


Professor Guan Wei praised IBI’s achievements in the field of industrial internet, stating:
“IBI’s accomplishments in building industrial internet platforms are highly commendable. As China pushes forward industrial digitalization and digital industrialization, IBI stands at the forefront of this transformation. Its real-world practices provide strong support for theoretical and academic research, and I hope IBI will continue to play a greater role in driving industrial innovation and upgrading.”
Senior Vice President Pan Yong elaborated on IBI’s overall ‘Platform–Technology–Data’ (PTD) strategy, providing a systematic overview of the company’s platform services, technological innovation, and industrial big data applications. The visiting students and scholars actively engaged in the discussion, expressing that the exchange offered valuable insights into the integration of theory and practice.
During the evening dinner session, Professor Guan Wei expressed optimism about future collaboration between Renmin University of China and IBI, noting that he looked forward to deeper exchanges and broader cooperation between academia and leading enterprises in the industrial internet sector.
