From Shandong to Yunnan — The Industrial Internet Thrives Across China
As China’s industrial internet continues to accelerate nationwide, the development of industrial internet platforms—as the key carriers of industrial resources—requires cross-sector value integration, collaborative innovation, and technology-driven transformation. These platforms are playing an increasingly crucial role in optimizing industrial, value, and supply chains.
Recently, Liu Quan, Chairman of Beijing United Information Technology Co., Ltd. (IBI, stock code: 603613.SH), led a delegation on a national business expansion and digital empowerment tour. Accompanying him were Yin Haifeng, CEO of Boododo & Feidoodoo; Lv Wen, Strategic Partner of Feidoodoo; Zhang Dongsheng, Founding Partner of Boododo; Xu Hai, Founding Partner and Risk Control Director of Honghu Zhiyuan; and Zhang Jun, Vice President of Feidoodoo and Director of the First Trading Division.
Chapter One: Visit to the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce
The IBI delegation visited the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, where they were warmly received by Feng Zhen, Deputy Director-General of the Department.
During the meeting, Deputy Director-General Feng Zhen emphasized that in 2021, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce has adhered closely to the central and provincial directives on governance, fully implemented the new development concept, and integrated into the national “dual circulation” development pattern. The province is committed to taking responsibility and leadership in establishing a new regional hub for economic and trade radiation across Southwest China, setting a strong foundation for the “14th Five-Year Plan.”
Feng Zhen highlighted the success of Shupin Tianxia, a subsidiary of IBI in Sichuan, as a model case in the province’s “E-commerce in Rural Areas” initiative. He noted that Kunming City has selected Shupin Tianxia as a strategic partner in its pilot projects for rural e-commerce.
Chairman Liu Quan stated:
“Yunnan’s well-structured manufacturing base and steadily improving modern industrial system form a strong foundation for industrial internet development. IBI will work closely with local enterprises in Yunnan to jointly promote industrial innovation and digital transformation, focusing on both digitalizing industries and industrializing digital technologies.”
He Zhiping, Chairman of Shupin Tianxia, added:
“As an IBI subsidiary, Shupin Tianxia covers a wide range of digital rural initiatives—including Internet Plus, rural e-commerce projects, agricultural product operations, e-commerce talent training, targeted e-commerce poverty alleviation, and rural logistics. The company has built a complete agricultural specialty brand and supply chain service system. By strengthening cooperation with local governments, Shupin Tianxia aims to fully leverage its strategic positioning as a digital economy service provider for rural revitalization.”
Deputy Director-General Feng Zhen concluded by reaffirming that the industrial internet is an inevitable trend, and expressed his hope that IBI and Duoduo platforms will continue to receive strong policy and infrastructure support from the Kunming government as they expand their information technology innovation and digital supply chain initiatives across Yunnan.
Chapter Two: Yuntianhua Group
In recent years, the question of how to seize the tremendous opportunities of “Internet Plus” under China’s new economic normal has become a central focus across all industries. Yuntianhua Group (600096.SH), a state-owned comprehensive industrial conglomerate, has made significant progress in this field. With core businesses in fertilizers and modern agriculture, glass fiber new materials, and diversified sectors including petrochemicals, phosphate mining and processing, chemical trade and manufacturing services, and industrial finance, Yuntianhua has been at the forefront of applying IoT technologies and developing intelligent micro-fertilizer factories to explore new models of smart, internet-based agriculture.
Strategic Discussion and Cooperation
The IBI delegation, led by Chairman Liu Quan, was warmly received by Zhang Wenxue, Chairman of Yuntianhua Group.
During the in-depth discussion, Chairman Liu Quan emphasized:
“Under the guidance of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, IBI is advancing its strategic mission by integrating industrial e-commerce and internet data, promoting the deep fusion of the internet, IoT, and traditional industries. Our goal is to help traditional sectors reduce costs and improve efficiency through digital innovation. IBI will continue to strengthen collaboration with core enterprises across industrial chains, contributing actively to the national ‘dual circulation’ economic strategy and demonstrating the value of platform-based enterprises.”
Chairman Zhang Wenxue expressed high recognition of the Duoduo platform’s innovative model and agreed with IBI’s approach to industrial digitalization. Both sides reached a consensus to jointly explore strategic cooperation in advancing digital supply chain development within the fertilizer and chemical industries.
This meeting marked an important step in the integration of industrial internet platforms with state-owned enterprises, paving the way for Yuntianhua and IBI to work together toward digital transformation and intelligent industrial upgrading.
Chapter Three: Yantai Port
As a key hub on China’s north–south maritime transport corridor, Yantai Port, part of Shandong Port Group, holds a pivotal position in the nation’s logistics networks—particularly in fertilizer collection and distribution and bauxite full-chain logistics. In recent years, Yantai Port has strengthened its strategic cooperation with major domestic and international enterprises and shipping companies, continuously extending its logistics chain in petrochemicals, bauxite, ore, coal, and timber, while consolidating and optimizing its cargo supply system.
In-depth Exchange and Site Visit
The IBI delegation was warmly received by Bie Lixue, Deputy General Manager of Yantai Port Group; Zhao Dujiang, General Manager of United General Terminal; and Yu Jiangtao, Deputy General Manager of United General Terminal. The group also toured the port’s centralized fertilizer export zone and related terminals.
During the discussions, Deputy General Manager Bie Lixue remarked:
“The wide application of new technologies such as the internet, IoT, big data, and blockchain has provided powerful momentum for supply chain innovation and upgrading. IBI’s Duoduo platform possesses multi-dimensional advantages in this regard. We hope both parties will strengthen cooperation and jointly advance digital supply chain development.”
Zhao Dujiang, General Manager of United General Terminal, added:
“The new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation—characterized by the deep integration of the internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and 5G—is profoundly reshaping the port economy. These technologies are accelerating the digitalization, networking, and intelligent upgrading of ports. We look forward to deepening our comprehensive strategic cooperation with IBI and jointly promoting the construction of digital ports.”
Industrial Internet Collaboration
Yin Haifeng, CEO of Boododo and Feidoodoo, shared insights into the platforms’ full-industry-chain operations. She noted:
“As an open gateway for global trade, Yantai Port will become an essential hub for Duoduo’s cross-border e-commerce initiatives, enabling seamless linkage across global industrial chains.”
The exchange laid the foundation for future cooperation between IBI’s Duoduo platforms and Yantai Port, marking another significant step toward integrating digital supply chains, smart logistics, and industrial internet applications within China’s major port economies.
Chapter Four: Yunnan Hongfu Fertilizer Co., Ltd.
At the invitation of Yunnan Hongfu Fertilizer Co., Ltd., IBI Chairman Liu Quan and his delegation visited the company’s phosphate mining operation located in Dongchuan, Yunnan Province, at an altitude of 2,850 meters.
During the visit, General Manager Ma Jiewen of Yunnan Hongfu Fertilizer introduced the company’s business and development model:
“Yunnan Hongfu is part of the AVIC Resources Phosphate Chemical Division. As a vertically integrated enterprise combining mining and processing, Hongfu enjoys a natural advantage in linking raw material supply with finished product manufacturing.”
