IBI Invited to Attend the Economic Operations Symposium for the First Three Quarters of 2021 Organized by the NPC Financial and Economic Affairs Committee
From September 22 to 24, 2021, the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) convened a symposium on the economic performance for the first three quarters of 2021. Participants included officials from 15 ministries and commissions — such as the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the Ministry of Finance — as well as representatives from nine industry associations, including the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), and the China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF).
In addition, executives from nine leading enterprises, such as State Grid Corporation of China, Sinovac, and IBI, together with experts from the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the Institute of Economics under the NDRC, participated in in-depth discussions.
The symposium primarily focused on analyzing China’s economic performance during the first three quarters of 2021, identifying key issues requiring attention, and assessing the prospects for achieving major annual economic indicators.
During the meeting, Pan Yong, Board Secretary and Senior Vice President of IBI, delivered a thematic report titled “The Role of Industrial Internet Platforms in Stabilizing Supply Chain and Industrial Chain Development.”
Drawing on the company’s operational practices during the first three quarters and its observations across multiple industrial sectors, Pan highlighted several key points in response to the “strengthening, optimizing, and securing industrial chains” goals outlined in China’s 14th Five-Year Plan:
-
Industrial internet platforms play a crucial role in promoting the digital transformation of SMEs.
-
The interconnectivity of data across industries — under proper regulatory oversight — enables intelligent decision-making and supply-chain optimization.
-
The relationship among “filling weak links, optimizing existing links, and strengthening core links” is progressive and stage-dependent, requiring tailored policy support across different sectors.
He also urged relevant government departments to increase policy support for industrial internet platform development and data-driven collaboration.
IBI will continue to follow its strategic roadmap of “enhancing the supply chain through e-commerce operations, optimizing industrial chains via industrial internet solutions, and strengthening the value chain with data.”
Through this approach, IBI remains committed to advancing SME digitalization and ensuring the security and stability of China’s industrial and supply chains.
