IBI Senior Vice President Liu Zhai Attends the First “Belt and Road” Supply Chain Summit and Delivers Keynote Speech
On November 20, 2022, the First “Belt and Road” Supply Chain Summit, co-hosted by the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP), the China International Electronic Commerce Center, and the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce, was held in Kunming. Liu Zhai, Senior Vice President of IBI and CEO of Toodudu, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech entitled “Enabling Traditional Industries to Realize the Value of Digitalization.”
The summit, themed “Unimpeded Industrial and Supply Chains, Linking the Belt and Road,” focused on topics including the shared use of international logistics and supply chain resources, digital supply chains and the industrial internet, and the construction of international land and sea channels and supply chain systems serving South Asia and Southeast Asia. The event aimed to strengthen pragmatic cooperation, promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, accelerate global industrial and supply chain connectivity, and enhance the resilience and security of supply chains.
The opening ceremony was attended by Cai Jin, Vice President of CFLP and Chairman of the Asia-Pacific region of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM); Zhang Bin, Deputy Director of the Department of Circulation Industry Development of the Ministry of Commerce; and Valentín Turís Cambaceres, Acting Consul General of the Consulate General of Uruguay in Chongqing (online), who all delivered remarks. Zhang Ping, Member of the Party Committee of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Commerce and Assistant Director of the Provincial Free Trade Office, and Yang Dongwei, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Kunming Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Kunming, delivered keynote promotions.
The summit brought together more than 200 leading central state-owned enterprises, Fortune 500 companies, and well-known enterprises, along with over 400 industry experts attending in person, while nearly 10,000 participants joined online. Distinguished speakers included Yang Bin, Deputy Director and Researcher of the Institute of Network Behavior at Tsinghua University; Liu Zhai, Senior Vice President of IBI and CEO of Toodudu; Zhang Yansheng, Chief Researcher at the China Center for International Economic Exchanges; Zhang Yang, Supply Chain Director of Huawei Technologies; Wang Hui, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Railway Materials Group; Cai Jingdong, Executive Director and Party Secretary of State Grid Materials Co., Ltd.; and Zhou Jingjing, Deputy Director of Xiamen Xiangyu Co., Ltd.
In her keynote address, Liu Zhai emphasized: “The rise of the industrial digital economy is an irresistible trend, and the core value of industrial digitalization lies in reducing costs and improving efficiency.” She added: “Based on digital technology, deeply integrating into industrial chains, optimizing supply chains, and enhancing value chains are the core levers for industrial internet platforms to drive the development of the digital economy. Relying on industrial internet platforms to build a digital supply chain service system that connects the Belt and Road and links the world is an essential part of platform development. We hope to fully integrate resources and work together to promote industrial innovation and upgrading.”
