Joining Hands with the “SCO Strength” | IBI Invited to Attend the SCO Industrial and Supply Chain Forum and Signs Key Projects
On June 15, the SCO Industrial and Supply Chain Forum and the 2023 SCO International Investment and Trade Expo opened at the SCO Pearl International Expo Center in Qingdao. Ling Ji, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, and Song Junji, Vice Governor and Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial Government, attended the opening ceremony and delivered keynote speeches. Yerzhan Yermekbayev, Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO, delivered remarks, and Zhao Haozhi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Mayor of Qingdao, was present. The ceremony was chaired by Zhang Xinzhu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the SCO Demonstration Zone.
IBI was invited to attend the forum, represented by Wang Ting, Director and Senior Vice President of IBI; Zhao Deyuan, Vice President of Wdoodoo; and Li Peiyu, General Manager of the Industrial Development Department of Wdoodoo.
At the opening ceremony, the Qingdao Initiative of the SCO Industrial and Supply Chain Forum was released, putting forward clear proposals and concrete measures to strengthen industrial and supply chain cooperation within the SCO and globally. It voiced the “SCO perspective” and presented the “China solution.”
On the afternoon of June 16, a centralized signing ceremony was held at the SCO Industrial and Supply Chain Forum and the 2023 SCO International Investment and Trade Expo, where 25 projects, including those of IBI, China Logistics Group, Zhongchu Development Co., China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group, and Trip.com Group, were signed. IBI signed on-site for its industrial internet platform project and cross-border e-commerce project, represented by Senior Vice President Wang Ting.
The SCO Industrial and Supply Chain Forum was a major initiative announced by President Xi Jinping at the SCO Samarkand Summit in September 2022. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Shandong Province, and organized by the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government and the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, the forum was themed “Synergizing for Mutual Success: Linking Industrial and Supply Chains for a New Future of Regional Economic Cooperation.”
The event consisted of a main forum, the 2023 SCO International Investment and Trade Expo, parallel forums, and on-site matchmaking sessions. It aimed to build a new platform for cooperation among SCO countries, both at national and local levels, as well as for enterprises, while promoting the establishment of a secure, stable, efficient, open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial industrial and supply chain system.
