IBI Visits Beijing Information Science and Technology University for Research and Exchange

On the afternoon of February 18, Qian Xiaojun, Founder, CEO & President of IBI, led a delegation of senior executives to Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU) for a research and exchange visit. The delegation was warmly received by Xie Jiangling, Secretary of the CPC BISTU Committee. Attending the symposium were Chen Xin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of BISTU; Wang Xingfen, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC BISTU Committee and Vice President of BISTU.

On behalf of the university, Xie Jiangling extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He gave a detailed overview of BISTU’s development from the perspectives of “one heritage, two main development lines, three distinctive features, five advantageous research fields,” and the “one primary, two auxiliary campuses, multi-park coordination” layout. He noted that the university’s research strengths align closely with IBI’s industrial ecosystem. In addition to providing intellectual resources, the university can seamlessly integrate with IBI in technical R&D and project cooperation, jointly exploring new paths for technological innovation and application. He expressed hope that both sides would leverage their respective advantages, identify cooperation entry points, and carry out joint technical R&D, achievement transformation, and deep integration of industry, academia, and research to promote the flourishing development of both sides. He also mentioned that the university plans to soon organize faculty members from its advantageous research fields to visit IBI for specific cooperation discussions, with the expectation of signing a cooperation agreement and initiating multi-faceted collaboration.

Qian Xiaojun expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and spoke highly of the university’s remarkable achievements in recent years. He provided an overview of IBI’s main business areas and shared the company’s practical achievements in promoting the digital transformation of SMEs. He emphasized that IBI adheres to an industrial internet development strategy centered on “platform, technology, and data,” driven by its chain-leader role in the industrial internet, offering feasible and reliable pathways for the digital transformation of industrial enterprises, fostering the integration of the digital and real economies, and building an innovative ecosystem for the digital economy. He noted BISTU’s distinctive educational characteristics and strong research advantages, and expressed his hope to establish industry-academia-research cooperation with the university, jointly tackle key challenges, accelerate the transformation of innovative achievements, promote resource sharing, co-build innovation platforms, and make greater contributions to the development of Beijing in the new era.

During the symposium, Chen Xin gave a detailed introduction to the university’s overall research profile, highlighting its strengths in artificial intelligence, computer science, big data, and intelligent equipment — areas that strongly align with IBI’s business fields. He expressed hope for in-depth cooperation between the two sides.

Wang Xingfen introduced the development of the university’s SME Digital Transformation Empowerment Center, noting that the center is an important initiative to support Changping District in building a pilot city for digital transformation. It also serves as a key platform for leveraging the university’s strengths in information and industry characteristics to provide technological services for digital and intelligent transformation. She expressed the hope that subsequent cooperation with IBI could be carried out through industry-education integration in areas such as e-commerce, information services, and digital technology services.

Pan Yong, Board Secretary and Senior Vice President of IBI, gave a detailed introduction to the company’s development history and shared its experience in SME digital transformation, emphasizing the importance of linking SME digital transformation with industry-education integration. Zhang Meifu, Vice President & CTO of IBI, introduced the company’s school-enterprise cooperation efforts, common pain points in factory digital upgrades, and potential research collaboration directions based on these challenges.

Cao Lin, Director of the Science and Technology Office; Su Peng, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; Zhang Wei, Dean of the School of Computer Science; Wang Lijie, Associate Dean of the School of Automation; Cheng Jin, Deputy Director of the Industry Office; and Professor Gu Xiaoyan of the SME Digital Transformation Empowerment Center, each commented on the cooperation proposals put forward by IBI.

Prior to the meeting, Qian Xiaojun and his delegation toured the Lide Building model of the Shahe Campus, the university’s scientific research achievements exhibition, and the library.

Also present at the symposium were Tian Tao, Director and CFO of IBI; Wei Lifeng, Director of Cross-Border Technology; Yang Zihui, Assistant to the President; and Dong Zhinan, Senior Manager of the President’s Office, along with leaders from the university’s Party Committee Office, Science and Technology Office, Industry Office, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Automation, and School of Computer Science.
